Who Is Billed
Only agencies are billed through ShiftNest.
Facilities and shift workers do not receive invoices from ShiftNest - they manage their payments directly outside the platform.
Each agency’s account covers all connected facilities and workers under that organisation.
How Charges Are Calculated
ShiftNest applies a 2% platform fee on the total value of approved timesheets.
This means agencies only pay for shifts that have been worked, submitted, and approved.
Example:
An agency earns £105 from approved timesheets in a billing cycle.
ShiftNest applies a 2% fee (£2.10).
If the agency is in a free trial, the fee is waived for that period, and you’ll see it shown as “Free Trial Applied – £2.10 waived.”
Free Trial Period
When your agency first joins ShiftNest, you’ll receive a free trial where no platform fees are charged.
The free trial covers all signed timesheets within the trial dates.
You can view your trial period under Billing → Payment Settings.
Once the trial ends, billing will automatically begin on the next approved timesheet.
Viewing Your Billing Dashboard
Go to Billing from the left-hand menu to access your billing summary.
Here, you can:
View total income generated by your agency
See worker pay and platform fees side-by-side
Review signed timesheets that contribute to your bill
Check past invoices (once available after trial ends)
Your dashboard contains two main tabs:
Invoices: Displays all generated invoices for each billing cycle.
Timesheets: Shows which approved timesheets are contributing to the current month’s charges.
Payment Processing
Once the free trial ends, billing occurs automatically each month based on approved timesheets.
Payments are processed via your default payment method under Settings → Payment Settings.
You can enable Automatic Payments to pay invoices automatically when due.
Invoices are generated at the start of each calendar month.
Notes and Tips
ShiftNest’s 2% fee applies only to signed and approved shifts - no hidden costs.
You’ll continue to pay your workers and receive payments from facilities directly, outside the platform.
ShiftNest provides full transparency — your billing dashboard updates in real time as shifts are signed.
All billing data and transactions are secured under Cyber Security Certification and encrypted payment protocols.
