How Roles Work in ShiftNest
Each user invited through your agency dashboard is automatically assigned a role based on their type.
Here’s how access is structured across the platform:
Agency Admins – Have full control of the dashboard. Can manage settings, invite users, approve timesheets, and oversee billing.
Facilities – Can view and manage their own shifts, approve timesheets, and communicate directly with agencies through the platform.
Shift Workers – Can view and accept assigned shifts, submit timesheets, and update their availability.
Inviting Users and Assigning Access
Only agency admins can invite new users.
You can invite three types of users directly from your dashboard:
Agency Team Members – To share admin access within your agency account.
Facilities – To connect and manage shifts collaboratively.
Shift Workers – To join your roster and receive shift assignments.
Each invitation type automatically applies the correct level of access - you don’t need to manually assign roles.
Permissions and Limitations
Roles are predefined and cannot be changed manually once a user is invited.
Facilities and shift workers can only view and manage the information relevant to them - they cannot see or edit other organisations’ data.
Agency admins have visibility across all connected users but cannot access private details of workers connected to other agencies.
Best Practices
Invite only the people or organisations that you actively collaborate with.
Review your connected users regularly to keep your network accurate and secure.
Remove any outdated or inactive users promptly to maintain clean access records.
